Bangladesh is set to host 4-day D-8 Summit, beginning from 5 April

DHAKA, 1 April, 2021 (TON): Tenth Summit of the Developing-8 Organization for the Economic Cooperation will be hosted by Bangladesh that is beginning virtually on 5 April, FM Momen said.  

On Wednesday, the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh AK Abdul Momen said, the conference of the bloc, also known as Developing-8, will end through the summit of the top leaders of the eight countries on 8 April.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the summit and head the Bangladesh delegation. Heads of state or government of the D-8 countries will also speak.

Bangladesh will take over as the head of the organization for the next two years from Turkey at the conference, FM said.

The other countries in the organization for development co-operation are Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey.

Nevertheless, the conference will create new opportunities for Bangladesh to highlight its progress in the international arena and expand multilateral diplomatic cooperation.
