Bangladesh calls for global cooperation against terrorism threats

DHAKA 2 July 2026 (TON): Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury called for enhanced international cooperation to counter terrorism threats.

Addressing the UN General Assembly debate on the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy on 1 July, Chowdhury emphasized on the country’s policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.

Ambassador Chowdhury said that counter-terrorism measures must remain anchored  in the rule of law and respect for human rights. He also called for strong international action to address the root causes of terrorism.
