DHAKA, 9 July 2026 (TON): Five people, including children, were killed after a landslide struck Bangladesh's Bandarban district following days of heavy rainfall, local authorities said on Thursday.

According to local officials, continuous rainfall caused a hillside to collapse onto two houses, trapping the occupants beneath debris. Rescue teams later recovered the bodies from the affected area.

Authorities warned that persistent rainfall has increased the risk of further landslides and urged residents living near vulnerable hillsides to move to safer locations as a precaution.
