THANE, INDIA, 17 July 2026 (TON): Indian Thane Court sentenced two Bangladeshi women to two years in imprisonment, deportation after completing sentence and fine of Indian Rupees 10,000 each.
A court in Maharashtra's Thane district has sentenced two Bangladeshi women to two years' imprisonment for illegally entering India and residing in the country without valid travel documents. The court also directed that they be deported to Bangladesh after completing their prison terms and fulfilling all legal formalities.
These women, identified as Shahnaj Bilal Saddar (43) and Hasina Jabbar Khan (45) were pleaded guilty by Additional Sessions Judge V.G. Mohite. They women were arrested by the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell from Mira Road area of Thane district on 3 December 2024. Since they have remained in judicial custody.
