KATHMANDU, 9 July 2026 (TON): China has proposed new trade and investment agreements with Nepal aimed at expanding bilateral economic cooperation, according to officials.

The proposals, including a Bilateral Investment Agreement (BIA) and a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), were discussed during talks between Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Yan Dong and Nepal's Industry Minister on Tuesday.

Officials said the proposed agreements are intended to promote investment, strengthen investor protection and improve the business environment, while supporting closer economic ties between the two neighbouring countries.
