BEIJING ,4 July 2026 (TON): China has promoted Zhang Shuguang and Wang Gang to the rank of general as the country's military leadership continues to undergo major changes following an anti-corruption campaign.
Zhang was also appointed to lead the military's anti-corruption investigations, signaling efforts to strengthen discipline and loyalty within the armed forces.
The promotions are expected to help fill key leadership vacancies in the Central Military Commission ahead of its planned reorganization next year.
