BEIJING, 18 July 2026 (TON): A rain triggered landslide in Chongqing, southwest China, killed at least eight people and left 34 others missing after burying several residential buildings, according to state media.

Rescue teams saved 10 people from the debris, including two with serious injuries. More than 1,100 residents were evacuated as emergency workers continued search operations.

Chinese authorities sent thousands of relief supplies, including tents, emergency kits, and folding beds, to support affected families while rescue efforts remained underway.
