BEIJING, 16 July 2026 (TON): Six people were killed and 11 others injured after a bus crashed through a roadside guardrail and plunged into a river in China's southwestern Sichuan Province on Wednesday, local authorities said.
Officials said the bus was carrying 17 passengers, which was within its approved capacity. Emergency teams launched rescue operations immediately after the accident.
Rescue efforts were completed early Thursday, and authorities have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. The injured passengers were taken for medical treatment.
