NEW DELHI June 23, 2026 (TON): At least 15 people, most of them students, were killed after a fire broke out at an animation training centre in the Aliganj area of Lucknow, the capital of India's Uttar Pradesh state.
Local officials said 21 students were present at the centre when the fire erupted. Rescue teams and firefighters carried out evacuation operations, while the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident and are investigating the cause of the fire. Officials are also examining whether the centre complied with required safety regulations.
