KAMRUP, ASSAM, 3 September 2026 (TON): Two Assam police personnel deployed at border outpost were shot dead and four injured in fake encounter against Assamese freedom fighters. Authorities claim that allegedly their colleague opened fire on them by mistake. It has been official reported that the Constable Chiranjiv Choudhury opened fire from his AK-47 rifle, killing two colleagues on the spot and injuring four others. Those killed included Constable Fajrul Ali and Indrajit Bora, the in-charge of the Gamerimura outpost.
Police personnel on duty said that Police is fed-up from the newly established inter-state border outpost in Assam's Kamrup district and no one is ready to be deployed. They said theat the attitude of the seniors under pressure from New Delhi is too harsh and inhuman. A court of inquiry has been ordered and interrogation is underway.
