WASHINGTON, 13 June 2026 (TON): The United States defeated Paraguay 4-1 to move to the top of Group D with three points.

The hosts made an excellent start when an early own goal by Damian Bobadilla put them ahead. Folarin Balogun then struck twice before halftime to give the United States a commanding 3-0 lead.

Paraguay reduced the deficit in the second half through Mauricio, but the comeback hopes were short-lived. Giovanni Reyna added a fourth goal in stoppage time to complete a convincing 4-1 victory for the Americans.
