CHILE _ SANTIAGO, 22 July 2026 (TON): Heavy rains across Chile have killed 13 people and left seven missing, causing floods, road closures, and major damage.

More than 2,200 people have been displaced, 81 homes destroyed, and around 87,000 residents remain without electricity. Schools in several areas were also closed.

"Waterways, streams, and riverbanks have been weakened by the rainfall over the past few days; there is still a risk of rising water levels in some of them," emergency official Alicia Cebrian said.
