BERLIN, 29 July 2026 (TON): Germany has deported 31 Afghan nationals to Afghanistan on a charter flight, according to German authorities. Officials said 30 of the deportees had previous criminal convictions.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said one deportee had no criminal record but had exhausted the asylum process after his application was rejected. Authorities also said he had been living illegally in another European country before being returned to Germany.

Germany has deported more than 200 Afghan nationals since resuming deportation flights in 2024, as part of its immigration enforcement policy.
