NATO allies announce major defence agreements at Ankara summit

ANKARA, 8 July 2026 (TON):  NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said member states are finalising defence agreements worth billions of dollars during the alliance's summit in Ankara.

He said the new initiatives are aimed at strengthening NATO's military capabilities while supporting economic growth and expanding defence-related employment across member countries.

Reports say Rutte also highlighted continued progress in increasing defence spending among NATO allies as the alliance seeks to enhance collective security.
