BUENOS AIRES, 30 July 2026 (TON): Seven people were killed after a firefighting helicopter crashed in Argentina's San Juan province while travelling to assist with a forest fire in neighboring La Rioja.
The Bell 412 helicopter was carrying firefighters, police officers and civil protection personnel when it lost contact with its base before the accident.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash as officials expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
