WASHINGTON D.C. 11 July 2026 (TON): Flash floods caused by heavy rainfall stranded hundreds of people across Missouri's Ozark region on Friday, prompting large-scale rescue operations by emergency services and the National Guard.
Helicopters and rescue boats evacuated campers, residents and children trapped by rapidly rising floodwaters.
Authorities said no deaths had been reported, although several roads remained submerged or damaged and warned that flood conditions could continue as additional rainfall was forecast across the region.
