CUMILLA, 2 November 2020, (TON): Talukder Bangra Bazar Police Station said, “The police arrested two people, including the headmaster of a kindergarten school in Purbo Dhour, on charges of hurting religious sentiments.”

Deputy Commissioner of Cumilla district has reported the situation under control over the assurance of action against those who hurt the religious sentiments. He added, the locals carried out arson attacks on the three homes, including those of the two arrested persons.

According to the police, a Bangladeshi, who now lives in France, praised French President Emmanuel Macron for taking steps against "inhumane ideologies" and headmaster supported caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad Alhe salam (Sal Allah Ho Alhe Wasalam). However, Police said that his only crime was comment on Facebook which spread on social media.
