NEW DEHLI, 4 April, 2021, (TON): The Jammu and Kashmir police have solved a grenade throwing case and arrested two terrorist associates of LeT, officials said on Saturday.

Police said on Dec 12, 2020 unknown terrorists hurled a hand grenade towards Police Post Bus Stand which missed the intended target and exploded outside gate of the police post, resulting in injuries to three civilians.

Accordingly a case was registered by the police and investigation was set into motion.

Police said during the course of investigation two suspects Mohd Asif Najar and Sahil Rashid Bhat resident of Green Town Sopore were apprehended."During questioning they confessed that they are working for LeT outfit as over ground workers and had thrown the Grenade on Police Post Bus Stand on the directions of LeT terrorists," police said.

"The duo also confessed that they were desirous to join the terrorist ranks but before that a hand Grenade was handed over to them with the directions to throw it on any security force/ Police establishments in Sopore area, which they finally threw on Police Post Bus Stand." Police said both have been formally arrested on April 1 in the instant case and are presently on Police remand.

Police said further investigations are on.              

 

ISLAMABAD, 29 March, 2021, (TON): Two men, including an Afghan national, were arrested on charges of looting a rice truck in Peshawar, the police said on Monday.

As indicated by DSP Qazi Asmat, the truck was carrying rice from Afghanistan to Peshawar. "They worth billions of rupees," he said.

The perpetrators looted the truck on the night of March 25. There were more than 2,000 rice bags in it, the DSP added.

The police have started questioning the suspects and have seized their weapons.

 

COLOMBO, 29 March, 2021, (TON): The Police arrested 1,120 suspects in a special operation conducted yesterday covering the Western Province.

Among the suspects arrested, 47 were involved in crimes, 418 were evading arrest warrant,s and 549 suspects for their involvement in corrupt activities.

The operation was carried out on the instructions of Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm yesterday 28 March.

The arrested suspects are to be produced before the Court.

DHAKA, 24 March, 2021, (TON): Police arrested a 70-year-old man for raping a child in Sharsha upazila of Jashore.

The arrestee, Abu Siddik Gazi, was arrested last night from his house in the Upazila, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting Badrul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station.

The six-year-old victim's mother caught Abu Siddik in the act yesterday afternoon, the OC said.

The arrestee admitted to his crime during primary interrogation, the police official said, adding that he will be produced in court today.
