NEW DEHLI, 26 March, 2021, (TON): A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) staff has been reserved for purportedly assaulting a 28-year-elderly person subsequent to promising to wed her, police said on Thursday.

As per the police, the complainant, a local of Amethi interacted with the blamed Bhaskar Tiwari for Sultanpur in 2012 through their family relations.

"The jawan had developed a friendship with the victim since 2012 and had been allegedly sexually exploiting the woman on the pretext of marrying her. They also met on several occasions. However, no arrest has been made," Subhash Boken, spokesperson of the Gurugram police, said.

The UDA Director General further stated that steps have been taken to provide funds for this pilot project including all technical facilities and that the project will be introduced to all local authorities in the future after discussing with the heads of the relevant local authorities and considering their needs.

DHAKA, 26 March, 2021, (TON): Firemen have managed a fire that broke out at the Meena Bazar outlet in Dhaka's Dhanmondi territory toward the beginning of today.

The blaze broke out around 7:00 am, said Ershad Hossain, duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

On information, two units of firefighters went to the spot and brought the fire under control around 9:15 am, the duty officer said.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be identified so far, he added.

DHAKA, 26 March, 2021, (TON): Amjad Ali, a playwright, entertainer, and maker of Bangladesh Betar, who recovered conflict time reports from an Al Badr camp in Rajshahi in 1971, passed away the previous evening.

The 72-year-old breathed his last at his home in the Ranibazar zone of the city around 11:30 pm, said his cousin Ahmed Shafi Uddin. He further said Amjad had been suffering from diabetes complexities. He was released from the emergency clinic just fourteen days back.

Amjad left three daughters, a host of relatives, and well-wishers to mourn his death.

On December 18, 1971, Amjad Ali went down a well at a house in Ranibazar which was being used as the divisional camp of Al Badr during the Liberation War. He then pulled out a bag that his cousin Ahmed Shafi, also a journalist back then, had seen floating in the well.

The bag, an important discovery, contained documents of over 2,000 pages left by Al Badr leaders. The documents revealed how ruthless Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed and Al Badr were against Bangladesh's freedom.

One of the documents contained directives by the Al Badr chief towards its members to not even spare their closest relatives in case of their role in Bangladesh's freedom.

Amjad, who could not continue his studies after SSC for financial difficulties, joined Pakistan Radio as a copywriter in the late 1960s. He wrote plays, produced, and acted in many radio dramas since then.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Ranibazar Jame Mosque after Jumma prayers. He will be buried at Hatim Khan-Kadirganj Graveyard.

The Chinese foreign ministry (FM) said in a statement it sanctioned four entities and nine individuals, including lawmakers such as former Conservative Party leader Iain Duncan Smith and the Conservative Party Human Rights Commission that “maliciously spread lies and disinformation.”

Directed people and their close relatives are restricted from entering the Chinese region, the service said, adding that Chinese residents and establishments will be disallowed from working with them.

The move is a retaliation to a coordinated set of sanctions imposed by the United States, European Union, Britain and Canada against Beijing over what they say are human rights violations against the Uighur Muslim minorities in Xinjiang. Beijing has already applied retaliatory sanctions against the EU that were in line with Friday’s announcement.

“China is firmly determined to safeguard its national sovereignty, security and development interests, and warns the UK side not to go further down the wrong path,” the Chinese ministry said. “Otherwise, China will resolutely make further reactions.”

Activists and U.N. rights experts say at least 1 million Muslims have been detained in camps in Xinjiang. The activists and some Western politicians accuse China of using torture, forced labor and sterilizations. NEW YORK, 26 March, 2021(TON): The UN announced to donate $14 million to help build Rohingya camps in Bangladesh’s Cox Bazar, that destructed due to massive blaze earlier this week and left thousands homeless.

On Monday, the fire broke out four refugee camps at Balukhali, home to hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims who fled persecution in neighboring Myanmar, leaving at a dozen others wounded.

UN Humanitarian Chief, Mark Lowcock said on social media, "I am allocating $14 million from UNCERF (UN Central Emergency Response Fund) to help rebuild shelter and provide other emergency services for the tens of thousands of Rohingya refugees affected by the devastating fire in the camps in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh."

The UN said that the funds will also help provide urgent water and sanitation services, food, mental and psychosocial health assistance.

"Rohingya refugees need our support now more than ever, as the pandemic continues to take its toll and they approach the monsoon season," said Lowcock.

The fire displaced more than 45,000 people mostly Rohingya refugees, and a hospital and other critical health, nutrition and education structures were also destroyed in Monday's fire, UN said.

More than 1 million Rohingya Muslims have been living in 34 squalid camps built on more than 3,000 hectares of hilly land in Cox's Bazar after they fled persecution in Myanmar.

However, those who were displaced have sought refuge in nearby camps, shelters and school buildings.

Rai on Thursday held a survey meeting with authorities of the Environment Department and 'Delhi Pollution Control Committee' to control contamination and guided them to make a move on the report about the current contamination in Delhi. He additionally guided the authorities to make a drawn-out contamination activity plan for what's to come.

"Regular monitoring of all hot spots in Delhi should happen. I am ordering you to take action on the deadline of any department whose complaint is coming in the green war room,” he said. Rai also instructed the department to make the agencies aware of the construction work so that they are aware of all the aspects related to pollution and take all kinds of precautions. At the same time, all the construction work related agencies have been instructed to follow all the guidelines related to pollution.

"The second important point was discussed on dust pollution. We took action at many places, especially last year. Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation of Delhi have also been instructed to spray water continuously on the roads," he added.

 The minister added that the government will take suggestions of experts and different organizations working on pollution issue to discuss and develop an action plan.
