KURRAM, 23 September 2024, (TON): - The exchange of heavy and light weapons against each other was witnessed on the third consecutive day in the clashes triggered by a land dispute and construction of trenches in Boshehra and its surrounding areas.
So far six persons got killed and several others sustained injuries as clashes esclates.
Meanwhile, when injustice and complaints of Bhagan tribe was not being heard they blocked the main Parachinar-Peshawar road, but still no action has been taken. The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), has initiated a protest sit-in outside the Parachinar Press Club. Former federal minister Sajid Hussain Turi called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and asked him to play his role in resolving the volatile situation in Kurram district.
If we recall, in July this year clashes between rival tribes in district Kurram resulted in the killing of at least 46 people and injury to nearly 200, a Grand Jirga of tribal elders, along with civilian and security officials, met in Parachinar after which a ceasefire was agreed upon by all stakeholders until 5 October 2024.
