DHAKA, 02 Septmeber 2022, (TON): Korean ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun said “Korea was working with the international community to resolve Rohingya crisis besides supporting Bangladesh hosting around 1.1 million forcefully displaced people from Rakhine state in Myanmar.”
He said “the ultimate solution to the crisis was a voluntary and dignified return of Rohingyas to their homes in Myanmar.”
Korean diplomat said “it is not an issue of Bangladesh alone. It’s a regional and international issue. Korea is working with international community to resolve the Rohingya crisis.”
He said “the Government of the Republic of Korea had already decided to provide 3.2 million US dollars in 2022 to support humanitarian assistance for Rohingya refugees and their host communities in Bangladesh.”
