Bangladesh prepared to stop fresh entries from Myanmar, State minister

DHAKA, 02 Septmeber 2022, (TON): State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam said “Bangladesh remains better prepared so that nobody can enter Bangladesh from Myanmar afresh due to the deteriorated situation in Rakhine State.”

He told reporters "our agencies are better prepared. BGB has been instructed to remain vigilant.”

Shahriar, said “they do not see any exodus like in 2016 and 2017 though some people fear that the rest of the Rohingyas will get into Bangladesh amid the worsening situation on the Myanmar side.”

He stated “what is happening in Myanmar is an internal matter of Myanmar.”

Shahriar said “they are giving utmost importance to keep the border secure and ensure no impact inside Bangladesh due to the situation in the Rakhine state.”
