Professor Bhupesh Khajuria involved in Sexual Abuse

Molestation of the final year student of Government Medical College, Jammu by a senior faculty member, Professor Bhupesh Khajuria, Department of Forensic Medicine has led widespread protests all over Indian held Jammu and Kashmir state (IHK).

A complete shutdown was today observed in Leh by political parties against the alleged molestation yesterday on 8^th January.

The protest was organised by Ladakh Regional Joint Action Committee, comprising youth wings of the Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Ladakh Buddhist Association, BJP and other parties in Leh district. The protesters were demanding the immediate termination of the accused and appointment of a special prosecutor in the case. The committee also submitted a memorandum addressed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to regional authorities at Leh.

There is rise in molestation incidents in government institutions in IHK. In the present case, theProfessor Bhupesh Khajuria has been attached with Directorate of Health Service, Jammu, duringthe period of investigation. However, every Kashmiri is quite clear that services will not be terminated and people of IHK would always live with the fear of sexual abuse.
