Malaysian Prime Minister visit Bangladesh and Pakistan

DHAKA, 3 October 2024, (TON): - Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim will undertake an official visit to the People's Republic of Bangladesh on 4 October 2024. Before the scheduled visit Malaysian Prime Minister will undertake three-days visit to Pakistan. Malaysia and Bangladesh maintain traditional bilateral relations which were further strengthened during the rule of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed.

Earlier, Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohammad arrived at Islamabad to hold preparatory discussions and set agenda points with his Pakistani counterpart, Ishaq Dar.

Malaysian Prime Minister along with a high-level delegation arrived today in Islamabad to strengthen the Strategic partnership between the two countries. The delegation was received by Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif at the alternative Islamabad Airport at Chaklala, Rawalpindi.

The high-level delegation include; Malaysian PM, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hassan, Minister of International Trade and Industry, Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Senator Dr Zulkifli bin Hasan and Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Haji Hasbi Bin Haji Habibollah.

During the meeting between the two Prime Ministers besides strategic issues, issues including trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, tourism, cultural exchanges, Halal industry and stronger people-to-people ties were discussed and MoUs concluded. There was consensus on important issues Jammu and Kashmir and Indian atrocities, Palestinian conflict and Israeli intrusion in Gaza, the genocide of Palestinians and the current situation in the Middle East.
