Washington, 17 September 2020 (TON): The US Department of Justice referring, Craig Carpenito, the US Attorney for the district of New Jersey said, US prosecutors say they have indicted two Iranians on allegations they were hackers connected with a "coordinated cyberintrusion campaign" that targeted American and foreign universities, a Washington-based think tank, and other organizations in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
As per the details, US prosecutors alleged that Hooman Heidarian and Mehdi Farhadi, both Iranian nationals, stole hundreds of terabytes of data, including national security intelligence, aerospace data including unpublished scientific research and nonmilitary nuclear information.
As per the US Department of Justice, Hooman Heidarian and Mehdi Farhadi in some cases, the hackers privately sold the stolen data on the digital black market. Both the Iranian nationals have been were charged in a 10-count indictment that included computer hacking, fraud, and aggravated identity theft.
