MOSCOW, 10 October 2020, (TON): Azerbaijan and Armenia on Saturday, 9 October, made an agreement to enforce a limited cease-fire after fierce fighting over a disputed province of Nagorno-Karabakh since fighting broke out on 27 September. with aim to access dame and losses and collect bodies from the battlefield and to exchange prisoners of war (POWs).
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the decision was taken after hours of talks held in Moscow.
As per the interim agreement, the ceasefire will be effective from midnight 10 October 2020. The agreement has been made between the two countries on humanitarian grounds, which would be followed by further negotiations.
Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on four points including exchange of prisoners, retrieval of dead bodies, and assessment of losses damages. Both countries also committed to further negotiate to resolve the issue through diplomatic and other peaceful means.
