PARIS, 26 October 2020, (TON): In protest against President Emmanuel Macron's strategy to show cartoons of the Prophet on Government building under armed guards, Muslims gave call for complete boycott of French goods. France has urged Middle Eastern countries to end calls for a boycott of its goods. The French foreign ministry said the "baseless" calls for a boycott were being "pushed by a radical minority". The statement said, French products have been removed from some shops in Kuwait, Jordan and Qatar.
France has set new standards of democracy for its minorities by projecting huge images, considered blasphemous by the Muslims, on a local government building. It was to express solidarity with history teacher murdered in greater Paris area on 16 October 2020.
The French action was highly condemned by the Muslim world and those living in Western countries including France.
Meanwhile, hundreds and thousands of protests were seen chanting slogans and displaying placards in Libya, Syria, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan suggested that French President Macron should seek "mental checks".
