West Bengal is a historical part of the Bengalis. In the 16th century, the Mughal emperor conquered west Bengal. However, west Bengal is always discriminated against under the force full rule of British and Illegal Indian occupation on west Bengal. Since 1947, West Bengal faces the heat of discrimination from Delhi. Several times, the state assembly conducted a protest against the federal and passed several resolutions against the discriminatory laws. The rigidity of Indian democracy hurled the progress of west Bengal.

In 2020 National Education Policy was adopted by the federal cabinet; in the NEP, they decide to exclude Bengali from the list of classical languages. Earlier, The Mamata Banerjee-led government conducted a protest and opposed the NEP 2020. It would not be implemented for the time being as more discussions need to be held on the NEP-2020, he said while objecting to the Centre's decision to exclude Bengali from the list of classical languages. She also formed a committee that had submitted its observations to the Federal Government.

Mamata Banerjee stated that "This new education policy does not have the required flexibility to reach out to the maximum number of students in a country like ours, which is so diverse in terms of linguistic differences. Rather, it will destroy the federal structure envisioned within the constitutional framework," adding that the West Bengal government does not support the new policy.

The Union Cabinet is replacing the 34-year-old National Policy on Education, framed in 1986. The Centre says the new education policy aims to pave the way for transformational reforms in both school and higher education systems to make India a global knowledge superpower. The federal wants to repeat the colonial era and forcefully implement the legacy of the British. Hence it has scientifically proved mother tongue can enhance 30% more understanding from another language. However, this issue is a political and purely issue of freedom of language.

West Bengal is a highly-populated area, and 86% of people speak the Bengali language. However, historically, linguistically, geographically, Geo-economically, religiously, and culturally it was and is part of Bangladesh. After 70 years, they are still struggling for the language and other rights within West Bengal and on the borders of West Bengal with Bangladesh. Thousands of Bengali killed during crossing the borders, Bengali in India highly frustrated and humiliated by the elite class of Indian.

Why India discriminates against West Bengal?

West Bengal is strategically and historically significant for the Geo-economic purpose. India is one of the top countries with a discriminatory attitude with their states and disputes with neighboring countries. Delhi always hider the states which carry the boundary line with its neighbors. Indian Punjab is with Pakistani Punjab, and Indian Government discriminates farmers, Kalapani is with Nepal, India disrupt the progress and peace, Tamil Nadu state is with Sri Lanka, India also uses force against Tamils and carry genocide, Ladakh boundary is with China, India wage war in the region, West Bengal boundary along with its natural part Bangladesh, India also hinder and discriminatory attitude with West Bengalis. All of the mention regions got an issue with the Federal Government of Delhi.

In specific to the language in India's education system, the long-run planning of the Indian establishment to make India a model state for the west or pave a way to the western civilization in the region. It will harm the traditions and norms and change the entire West Bengal customs, as Hindus and Muslims witness in the rest of India. Language is the most dominant factor in the progress of nations. However, Bengali people still struggling against the foreign Languages and stood up for their mother tongue.

Secondly, this policy is harmful in the long term. However, West Bengal is a natural part of Bangladesh. India wants to abolish the cultural integrity between both states. The Bengalis are from the same race and culture.

Third, Indian wants to disrupt the peace of west Bengal and provoke Bengalis for the agitation. When Bengali of west Bengal conducts the protest the oppression of federal, Delhi blames West Bengal leaders that they are traitors or “desh derohi’. India had also planned to destabilize the region and allow western forces along with their civilization to enter the region, and counter China as well as establish its hegemony in the region via disrupt the trade line and destabilize its neighbors because when they deploy their forces and impose aggressive policies which led the people to move into their neighboring countries.
