White House OK sending additional mechanized US troops back into Syria

WASHINGTON, 19 September 2020, (TON): Pentagon announced on Friday, 18 September that it intend to send mechanized troops back into Syria as a result of last month’s encounter with Russian forces in which  a Russian vehicle sideswiped a light-armored American vehicle, in which four American troops were injured.

US Central Command spokesman Navy Captain Bill Urban said in a statement, “The return of mechanized units also comes as the US military deployed Sentinel radar and increased the frequency of fighter jet patrols over US forces in that part of Syria.” It was revealed that move is aimed to support Kuwait–based Operation Spartan Shield.

As per the sources US has less than 300 troops in Syria and borders, controlling oil fields and terminals for supply and sale of oil. It is also aimed to keep check on foreign deployment, especially from Turkey.
