Saudi Arabia increases number of its citizens performing Umrah

JEDDAH, 24 September, 2020, (TON): According to reports, Saudi government allowed increased number of natives performing Umrah from 4th October.    According to Saudi Arabian Government press agency permission for Umrah without any interruption will be given gradually in four steps. Following common safety measures, from 4th October, 6000 Saudi pilgrims will be allowed on daily basis to perform Umrah at Al Haram mosque. From 18th October onwards 75 percents of pilgrims will be allowed to perform Umrah. From the start of November more five thousand visitors will be allowed from those specific countries which are considered by Saudi Government as safe from coronavirus. When the concerned authorities will announce that risk of epidemic is decreased then the pilgrims from the country and abroad will be allowed to perform Umrah as per normal capacity. Mobile application has been developed by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah which will be available a week before Umrah resumes. It will help the pilgrims for booking and registration. Last year total of 19 million pilgrims performed Umrah.
