KUWAIT CITY, 1 October 2020, (TON) -  After the demise of Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah on Tuesday, Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah became nation's new ruling Emir. Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah, who had served as the crown prince since 2006 has been sworn in as the new Emir of Kuwait on Wednesday, 

State television carried an address by Anas Khalid al-Saleh, Kuwait's interior minister and deputy prime minister, announcing Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah had taken the position just hours after Sheikh Sabah's death.

All the leaders of the Muslim world including Pakistan have expressed deep condolences over the sad demise of Pakistan Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah and have congratulated Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah on becoming the Emir. Pakistan enjoys brotherly relations with Kashmir and there are many areas of collaboration between the two nations. Kuwait in the past had shown interest in the purchase of JF-17 Fighter Jets and Super Mushshak trainer aircraft for the Kuwait Air Force from Pakistan.
