BAGHDAD, 12 October 2020, (TON): Iraq’s Foreign Minister said on Sunday that Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi is expected to pay an official visit to United Kingdom. As US has hinted withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan and Iraq by the end of this year or early next year, Prime Minister Mustafa is much perturbed about his governments future. In April this year, Kataeb Hezbollah, issued a statement accusing Al-Kadhimi of American links and role in the killings of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, and accused him of collaborating with the US. Beside other issues of mutual interests, Iraqi Prime Minister is likely to discuss during his UK's visit the ongoing situation arising from the US announcement of its troops from foreign countries including Afghanistan and Iraq.

Mustafa Abdellatif Mshatat al-Kadhimi was born in Baghdad but in 1985 he left for Iran. Later, he moved to Germany and finally moved to United Kingdom and acquired British citizenship. He was deadly against Iraqi leader Saddam Hussain therefore after US invasion of Iraq in 2003, Al-Kadhimi returned to Iraq and cofounded the Iraqi Media Network. Later, he founded an organization to document crimes under Saddam Hussain’s Baath party.
