JARUSALEM, 16 October, 2020, (TON): Normalization deal signed between Israel and UAE last month has been approved by Israeli parliament on Thursday.
Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at Israel Parliament in Jerusalem for the peace treaty discussions with UAE.
According to Xinhua news agency the agreement was approved in an 80-13 vote in a special session of the parliament. Last month on September 15 in a ceremony at Washington Unite Arab Emirate and Bahrain signed agreements to normalize relations with Israel in a strategic realignment of Middle East countries against Iran. UAE and Bahrain are the first two Gulf countries who agreed to form official relations between each other by signing an agreement. Bahrain is in the process of formalizing ties with Israel.
Before this two Arab countries Egypt and Jordan signed peace agreement with Israel.
On the other hand Palestinians, who have long relied on united Arab support to boost them against Israel, have condemned the deal and accused the UAE of betrayal. Where United States is trying to persuade more Gulf countries to strike similar accords with Israel, Riyadh has also given the signal of not being ready to take action.
