Police arrests more than 1,000 following UK riots

LONDON, 14 August 2024 (TON) - British authorities claim to have now arrested more than 1,000 people involved in rioting involving violence, arson and looting as well as racist attacks targeting British Muslims and migrants.

The riots, which followed the killings of three young girls in the town of Southport, began after the 29 July attack was intentionally leveled on Muslim migrant.

Violence broke out in cities across England and also in Northern Ireland, and the situation is improving after arrests of elements involved.

The National Police Chiefs' Council said in its latest update till 13th Augut 1,024 had been arrested and 575 charged across the UK.
