The recent alleged killings of Bano Bibi and Ihsanullah in Balochistan is being dubbed as “Honour Killing”, it should be rather be rephrased as “Dishonour Killing”. Hats off to Ms Gul Jan, the mother of Bano Bibi who despite earing disgrace due to act of her daughter by running away with a evil character Ihsanullah and returning after a gap of 25 days, she pardoned her and convinced her husband to pardon too and start a new life. Ihsan Ullah being neighbor of Bano Bibi trapped and instigated her and took her away for 25 days to cause insult and embarrassment for Bano Bibi’s family especially her brother Jalal.
Ms Gul Jan holding Quran in her hand swearing Almighty Allah told about devilish personality of Ihsanullah who used to treat and instigate the family to take harsh action. Narrating about the circumstances that led to incident she claimed Ihsanullah repeatedly taunted her sons, made TikTok videos holding bullets, and threatened the family with violence. She was so fed up with this person and got relief that she said, “We killed them and did so rightfully. He would challenge my sons, mock them, and even made threats by drawing cross over my sons' pictures, saying he would kill them.”.
Despite serious defect in FIR and investigations the investigation, one this is evident that Police surgeon, Ayesha Faiz, who carried out postmortem confirmed autopsies were conducted following exhumation but dead bodies were not brought to Civil Hospital, Quetta due to bad condition, especially female’s dead body. It is quite evident that both bodies were shot from front; woman was shot seven bullets; one on the backside of head and others on front in chest and abdomen while that of man he received nine bullets on chest and abdomen which rule out genuineness of viral video. More so, an important thing was missed that no family member was present confirm identities of the bodies which may create doubts.
What Superintendent of Police Syed Saboor Agha of Serious Crimes Investigation Wing Balochistan has so far not done is that he is unable to arrest the family members and friends of Ihsanullah to find out about TIk Tok videos in which threats and abuses were made public and which instigated the family members of Bano Bibi to take such an action. One wonder Ihsanullah committed a more serious crime and deserves a separate FIR after seeking permission from the Court. There is no doubt, we cannot cross the limits set in the Holy Quran and must enforce orders of Almighty Allah. Had there been any hope from judiciary to play its due role, such interim orders by Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai or violations like taking law into own hands by family members would have never occurred.
