KATHMANDU, 20 March, 2021, (TON): The parliamentary party and focal advisory group gatherings of CPN-UML are to occur today.

UML's parliamentary gathering meeting is being held at the Prime Minister's official home in Baluwatar, as indicated by UML Office Secretary Ishwari Rijal.

Similarly, the twelfth focal advisory group meeting of the gathering will be held after the parliamentary party meeting. Both the gatherings are probably going to examine contemporary policy-centered issues just as about contrasts inside the gathering.

The parliamentary party meeting today is relied upon to change the sculpture of the parliamentary party. The taskforce framed to revise the resolution will introduce its report today. KATHMANDU, 18 March, 2021, (TON):  Nepal PM, KP Sharma Oli has called for a parliamentary party meeting of the ruling CPN-UML on Thursday as the rift between the two warring factions of the party widened with the rival group convening the national gathering of cadres despite the warning of disciplinary action against those attending it, according to media reports.

The meeting will take place at Baluwatar, the official residence of the Prime Minister, who is also the Chairperson of the party, Bishal Bhattarai, party’s chief.

“All the party leaders who won elections with the symbol ‘Sun’ have been invited to the meeting,” Bhattarai said.

The call for the meeting came as the Communist Party of Nepal-UML’s rival faction led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal went ahead with the two-day national gathering of the party’s leaders and cadres that began on Wednesday.

Party’s senior leader Madhav Nepal is expected to present a political report on the widening rift in the party and his faction’s strategy for the coming days, it said.

The Oli-led faction had threatened to take disciplinary action against those who will attend the event organized by the Nepal-Khanal faction on Wednesday and Thursday.

CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel, in a statement, directed the party leaders and cadres not to attend the factional gathering, arguing that the UML had not organized any such event.

He warned of disciplinary action against those attending the “unauthorized” gathering.

KATHMANDU, 17 March, 2021, (TON): The Federal Parliament Parliamentary Hearing Committee has proceeded towards the hearing of the Supreme Court’s proposed justice Kumar Chudal and Nahakul Subedi.

A meeting of the Committee today decided to issue a 10-day notice to inform the public about the commencement of the hearing. The Committee seeks to be informed if there are any grievances or complaints against the proposed candidates, according to Committee President Laxman Lal Karna.

Chudal presently serves as the chief judge of High Court Patan while Subedi is the chief judge of High Court Surkhet. The March 12 meeting of the Judicial Council recommended the two to be appointed the SC judges and send the proposal to the Committee for further proceedings.

The Committee is the final body to decide whether to endorse or not the recommendations after going through certain procedures.
