MOSCOW, 20 March, 2021, (TON): Russia has delayed the dispatch of its Soyuz-2.1a rocket to Sunday, state news organization RIA cited Roscosmos space office Director General Dmitry Rogozin as saying on Saturday.

Rogozin said the choice to defer from Saturday was made after a voltage spike in front of the arranged dispatch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, detailed.

The Soyuz-2.1a rocket, which is expected to deliver 38 satellites that are mostly made outside Russia into open space, is now set to be launched at 0607 GMT on Sunday, the source said.

DUBAI/ANKARA/MOSCOW, 12 March, 2021, (TON): Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Turkey, Russia, and Qatar are making a joint attempt to promote a political solution to Syria’s 10-year conflict.

“Today we launched a new trilateral consultation process,” Cavusoglu said on Thursday after talks in Doha with Russian and Qatari foreign ministers. “Our goal is to discuss how we can contribute to efforts towards a lasting political solution in Syria.”

In a joint statement after the talks, the ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to “preserving the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity” of Syria.

Turkey and Qatar have backed fighters who sought to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, while Moscow provided military support which helped al-Assad seize back most of the country.

Diminishing Syrian suffering

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said the ministers had also discussed mechanisms for delivering humanitarian aid across the whole of Syria, adding “there is a crucial need to lessen the suffering of the Syrians”.

He said the purposes behind Syria's suspension from the Arab League in 2011 remain, while Cavusoglu said ongoing global commitment with al-Assad's administration frustrated endeavors for a political arrangement by giving it more authenticity.

NEW YORK, 12 March, 2021, (TON): China, Russia, North Korea, Iran and others are looking for help for an alliance to guard the United Nations Charter by standing up against the utilization or danger of power and one-sided sanctions, as per a report on Thursday.

Biden has pledged to take on China at the United Nations, where Beijing has been pushing for greater global influence in a challenge to traditional U.S. leadership.

However, a senior European diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity, responded, “These so-called friends are the ones who have done most to breach the charter. Maybe they should start by respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms in their own countries.”

Other founding members of the group are Algeria, Angola, Belarus, Bolivia, Cambodia, Cuba, Eritrea, Laos, Nicaragua, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Syria and Venezuela.

The concept note said “the world is seeing a growing resort to unilateralism, marked by isolationist and arbitrary actions, including the imposition of unilateral coercive measures or the withdrawal from landmark agreements and multilateral institutions, as well as by attempts to undermine critical efforts to tackle common and global challenges.”
