DHAKA, 25 November 2022, (TON): The eighth high-level border conference between Border Guard Bangladesh and Myanmar's Border Guard Police began in Naypyidaw of Myanmar.
A 10-member delegation of Bangladesh led by BGB Major General Shakil Ahmed participated in the five-day conference, according to a BGB press release.
On the other hand, a 15-member delegation led by Police Major General Aung Naing Thu represented the Myanmar side.

DHAKA, 25 November 2022, (TON): State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has said Bangladesh is going to get 1-1.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas from Brunei starting in early 2023.
He made the statement following a bilateral meeting between Bangladesh and Brunei Darussalam in Bandar Seri Begawan.
He said “there might be a 10-15 year agreement between the two nations in this regard."
Nasrul Hamid led the Bangladesh delegation while Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister's Office of Brunei, Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, led his country's delegation.

DHAKA, 25 November 2022, (TON): Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina dismissed the talks that there is no money in the country's banks.
Hasina said “some people talk about reserve but there is no issue regarding it. Some say there is no money in the banks which is a lie. Even I had a meeting with the Bangladesh Bank governor and other concerned. It was confirmed that we have enough money in banks."
Hasina, who is the president of ruling Awami League, was addressing a huge rally organized by the party at Jessore Stadium.

DOHA, 25 November 2022, (TON): Qatar is to provide $2.6 million to aid almost 100,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon with food, medicine, and shelter.
The Qatar Fund for Development agreed to the disbursement through the UN Refugee Agency, the UNHCR, in the early winter months to more than 13,500 Syrians in Jordan and nearly 82,400 in Lebanon.
Director General Khalifa Al-Kuwari said "QFFD spares no effort in responding to the ever-growing humanitarian needs around the world."

As per the Nepali Congress charter, only the elected leader of the parliamentary party gets to contest for prime minister.

As the proportional representation votes were also diverted to the new party.

BAGHDAD, 24 November 2022, (TON): Baghdad said Wednesday it planned to redeploy federal guards along its border with Iran and Turkiye, after repeated bombardments from both neighboring countries against opposition groups in Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region.
The announcement appeared to respond in particular to Iran, which had publicly urged such a move.
Authorities have decided to “establish a plan to redeploy Iraqi border guards... along the border with Iran and Turkiye,” a statement said, issued after a government security meeting overseen by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
The statement added "the initiative will be “in coordination with the government of the Kurdistan region and the peshmerga ministry."

WASHINGTON, 24 November 2022, (TON): The United States imposed sanctions on three Iranian officials on Wednesday for their role in the crackdown on protests in Kurdish-populated regions of the country.
Treasury Undersecretary Brian Nelson said “the Iranian regime is reportedly targeting and gunning down its own children, who have taken to the street to demand a better future,” in a statement.
Nelson said “the abuses being committed in Iran against protesters, including most recently in Mahabad, must stop.”

MANILA, 24 November 2022, (TON): The historic visit of US Vice President Kamala Harris to a Philippine island off the South China Sea this week was meant to showcase Washington’s support for one of its oldest security allies in Asia, experts have said, as the Southeast Asian country faced what she called “intimidation and coercion” in the disputed waterway.
Harris’ stop on Palawan, an island facing the South China Sea, was part of a three-day visit to the Philippines amid high geopolitical tensions in the region.
She was the highest-ranking American official to have visited the isle, her arrival taking place just days after an incident between the Philippine navy and the Chinese coastguard.

RIYADH, 24 November 2022, (TON): Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji recently met with Pakistan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar in Morocco.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 9th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations held in Fes.

NEW YORK, 24 November 2022, (TON): The UN special envoy for Yemen on Tuesday told Arab News that any attempt to settle the country’s conflict through violence is “unhelpful,” and that a long-term settlement can only be achieved through direct negotiations.
Hans Grundberg was commenting on the Houthi militia’s several drone attacks in the past two months that targeted Yemeni government ports, including one that hit a Greek oil tanker near Al-Dubba oil terminal in Hadramawt governorate.
The Houthis justified the attack as a warning to the government not to use the terminal to export oil. The UN Security Council condemned the attacks.
