RIYADH, 24 November 2022, (TON): Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji recently met with Pakistan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar in Morocco.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 9th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations held in Fes.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and developments in regional and international arenas.
NEW YORK, 24 November 2022, (TON): The UN special envoy for Yemen on Tuesday told Arab News that any attempt to settle the country’s conflict through violence is “unhelpful,” and that a long-term settlement can only be achieved through direct negotiations.
Hans Grundberg was commenting on the Houthi militia’s several drone attacks in the past two months that targeted Yemeni government ports, including one that hit a Greek oil tanker near Al-Dubba oil terminal in Hadramawt governorate.
The Houthis justified the attack as a warning to the government not to use the terminal to export oil. The UN Security Council condemned the attacks.
TOKYO, 24 November 2022, (TON): Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa said"Japan cannot accept North Korea becoming a nuclear state, a position that has also been shared in the G7 Foreign Ministers Statement issued on the 21st as well as in the resolution by the IAEA General Conference in September."
Hayashi was replying to a question from Arab News Japan on whether Japan would be willing to recognize North Korea as a nuclear state. Hayashi replied by saying that North Korea remains a threat to Japan.
“On November the 18th, North Korea launched an ICBM-grade ballistic missile and it has been conducting ballistic missile tests at an unprecedented pace,” Hayashi pointed out.
DHAKA, 24 November 2022, (TON): Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said "Japan is ready to receive a Bangladesh delegation led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to further deepen the relations between the two countries."
He told reporters "Bangladesh-Japan relations are very deep. It will further be deepened through the visit."
Momen said "Japan is keen to elevate the comprehensive relations to a strategic one. "We like each other."
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to leave for Tokyo on November 29.
AL-MUKALLA, 24 November 2022, (TON): Houthi leaders have rejected calls from the UN Yemen envoy and members of the UN Security Council to halt their assaults on oil installations in southern Yemen and to extend the UN-brokered ceasefire.
The Houthis have defiantly pledged to keep attacking oil installations with drones and missiles until their demands are met.
Houthi Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al- Ezzi slammed UN Yemen Envoy Hans Grundberg on Wednesday for urging the movement to de-escalate and resume peace negotiations, alleging that the Houthi movement had also provided compromises to seek peace in Yemen.
DHAKA, 24 November 2022, (TON): The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Dhaka and the United Nations Development Programme have signed an agreement for a two-year project for Landslide Risk Management in Cox's Bazar.
A UNDP press release said "the agreement was signed by UNDP Bangladesh Resident Representative Stefan Liller and the Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh Espen Rikter-Svendsen on behalf of their respective sides at the latter's office."
"UNDP and Norway have a long and successful history of working together," Espen Rikter-Svendsen said at the signing ceremony.

BERLIN, 24 November 2022, (TON): The first of several ships that will serve as floating terminals to receive liquefied natural gas imports in Germany arrived Wednesday off the Baltic Sea port of Mukran.

KABUL, 24 November 2022, (TON): The Islamic Emirate accused Washington of not living up to its side of the agreement between the two sides signed on February 29, 2020, in Doha.
Islamic Emirate spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said that the normalization of relations with Afghanistan and the lifting of sanctions are part of the Doha agreement.
Mujahid said “some other points which are mentioned there (agreement), such as removal of sanctions and normalization of contacts and relations with Afghanistan, unfortunately, the Americans have not come forward in this regard and we want them to take practical steps."
Mohammad Musa Sadat, said " political analyst the agreement was widely violated by the Americans. If we see, since the agreement was signed, no American has been killed but the Americans who first said to first recognize the Islamic Emirate but it has yet to be recognized."
